General
|
|
:The Blue Duiker is the smallest antelope in South Africa
and inhabits densely bushed areas in the eastern part of
the country. Both the males and the females carry horns.
They are sometimes found feeding in slightly more open areas,
but need the densely bushed areas for refuge and shelter.
They are often found on the dune beaches bordering coastal
forests in KwaZulu Natal and have been known to swim out
to see when hunted. The name Duiker come from their jerky
zigzag way of running into the bush when frightened. They
are very cautious animal and this makes a hunt for a Blue
Duiker a challenging prospect. |
