General

The Eland is the largest antelope in South Africa, with
large males sometimes going over a 1000 kg. They generally
live in small herds of mixed males and females with a dominant
bull. Eland are great wanderers and will often break game
fences to get out, or they will just jump the fence, a 2m
fence being no problem to them. They live in mixed habitat,
from bushveld to mountain slopes and are very adaptable. |
